Is Cashing out gay?
I think it is.

I consider it a bit NAMBY-PAMBY.

You'd need £300k.

Re: Is Cashing out gay?
you put on a bet at 4000/1 and you're happy nicking 50 quid out of it.

And thats common sense?

LOLZ

Re: Is Cashing out gay?
I do a long shot Acca every week, the chances of them all coming in are about 4000/1. But if I can turn that £1 outlay into £50 them I see no harm in it.

i don't cash out my 'serious' bets though unless it all rides on one game and it's not looking good. Better to have the money in your pocket than cursing a last minute OG.

It's common sense

How much would he have needed to have put on to have guaranteed a £30k win? You'd have to know people that really into their gambling who have high stakes available to get hold of that kind of money.

Even if the bloke knew someone with access to a lot of money it would be impossible to explain to a non-gambler that you really can't lose. (not within half an hour anyway)

'Can i borrow £100k to bet on Bolton to beat Liverpool?'

If you don't think its gonna win, don't put the bet on.

I guess it's who you know, but if you made the decision to cash out then you'd be crazy not to use the Exchange given the difference in return.

Re: Is Cashing out gay?
Given that the Bolton game kicked off not long after the other games finished it would have been extremely difficult to get your hands on the kind of money needed within half an hour, especially if your average stake is less than a tenner.

As for the cashing out for the 13k it all comes down to how much that 13k would mean to you. Do Betfair have option where you could cash out some of your bet and let the rest ride? Seems like that would be the best option for most.

Perhaps it's gambling per se that's gay.

Re: Is Cashing out gay?
I haven't done the calculation but if the £15k cash out offered was unfair then the punter could have simply laid Bolton on the exchange.

Admittedly they'd have needed a fair amount of capital to cover the bet but it shouldn't have been too hard to get hold of given the return.

What were Bolton to beat Liverpool? 10/1

A lay of Bolton on the exchange at that price would have guaranteed a return of £30k.

Re: Is Cashing out gay?
If I'd turned a few quid into 15k, I really wouldn't even give a shit if it could have been a lot more.

I'm ecstatic when I get an £80 return on my acca's.

What you never had you won't miss.

Re: Is Cashing out gay?
Yeah to be honest on one hand I'd be like I've had 4 come in let's not push my luck, and come on, 13k is still a big whack from £6!

On the other hand.. £325k is life changing.

I want to hear what he has done!!!

Re: Is Cashing out gay?
its greed and also what you are willing to lose.

we are currently looking at some building work so 15k would have come in handy right now

Gash Out

Hammers1993 5:02 Mon Jan 26
Re: Is Cashing out gay?
Exactly, penners.

Could go either way though, if he chose the 13k they lose out.

But it's still in their favour, as if he took the cash out option and Bolton won, they have saved themselves 300k.

Even if that is semi win-win, 325k makes your 13k look like peanuts.

I don't know what I would of done in his situation, guess it all comes down to greed.

A good SOCIAL bet for the pub is the BTTS coupon, cos you're always in that until the final whistle.

A punt for folk who aren't particularly arsed or knowledgeable about football but want summat to do of a Saturday afternoon.
